Product Introduction
**Five-Ply Stainless Steel with 316 Inner Layer**
Because five-ply stainless steel is positioned as a more premium material than standard tri-ply stainless steel, the inner cooking surface is often upgraded to **316 stainless steel**. Compared with 304 stainless steel, 316 offers better corrosion resistance and is more suitable for high-end cookware products, especially for customers who value durability, hygiene, and premium food-contact materials.
Both tri-ply and five-ply stainless steel cookware can be processed with surface etching on the inside or outside of the pot. The etching depth is usually around **0.1 mm**, creating a textured surface or decorative pattern according to the product design. This process can improve the visual appearance of the cookware and help create a more premium, customized look.
Etching also removes a small amount of material from the cookware body. Depending on the design and coverage area, the total weight may be reduced by around **5%**. This can slightly lighten the finished cookware while keeping the multi-layer structure and overall performance.
Five-ply stainless steel with a 316 inner layer is suitable for premium cookware brands, high-end stainless steel pots, frying pans, saucepans, stockpots, and customized cookware collections that require better corrosion resistance, refined surface design, and strong market positioning.
